Birthday + Deepavali Observing session - 16th October 2009
10th April 2008 was the peak crowning session in my life. There has not been anything unprecedented like this before, except once or twice (27-28 December 2005), and I was waiting for the next successful session to happen.
Observing on 16th October was something of crucial importance, and I was really really desperate, for few reasons. It was New Moon, it was the only planned session for this month after a stint of very cloudy and frustrating sessions all past months, this month being October meant skies clearing, which indeed were very much this time.
Observing session report - 18th June 2009
INSIGHT : This was an observing trip which for the 3 of us, would go in our personal record diaries. This observing session re-established all the psychic, obscure, unfathomable (whatever you call it) laws we strongly experience, connecting - Human Trust and Mother Nature!
Unlike anyone elsewhere, we are a league of amateurs who have made it an excuse to depend on 'Mother Nature' for clear skies, assuring ourselves, and even getting out of rainy homes, rather than cowardly sheltering under our roofs. For phrases like "It clears after dinner...it clears after midnight...or it clears after 2am" I have had solid experential base for creating such catch-phrases.
WEATHER REPORT (You could skip this part entirely) :
Observing session - Hosahalli - 22nd June
BAS has planned its next observing session, due after a long time, to it's regular observing site - Hosahalli, 70 km North Bangalore.

Agenda would be to observe the large gathering of globulars, open clusters and galaxies, with an assortation of other fascinating deep-sky objects throughout the night.
